What Is IL-12? 

IL-12 is a heterodimeric cytokine consisting of two subunits, i.e., p35 and p40. The biologically active IL-12p70 is the result of combining these two parts. It is primarily produced by antigen-presenting cells (APCs), including dendritic cells, macrophages, and monocytes, especially in response to microbial stimuli.
